Nobody seems to have touched upon this subject yet so let me ask you, "What is True Love and do you identify it?"
People say 'I love you' all the time and with every time the words are spoken they lose a small bit of meaning and become more mundane. The word 'love' has so little meaning invested in it nowadays that it seems shallow to say for some people.
How is love best expressed, defined and identified?
Is it best expressed with chocolates and roses? Is love wanting to be with your significant other forever? Does it fill your tummy with butterflies? At what point do the words 'I love you' fall short? Discuss.

true love is when you care for someone so much that you think about them constantly and even if they hurt you no matter how much they do you can never be mad at them even if they rip you apart youll still forgive them cause there happiness is all that matters to you, which is why true love is not always a good thing
that my view on it

To get my own view on it out,
To me True Love is a deep rooted and ever growing care for another person that will never wither and die or become embittered by hurtful experiences. A perfect trust and care for that person that you would do anything for to make them happy even if it isn't a happiness that they can share with you.

True love to myself means that a unbreakable bond between two people are formed and grows constantly. Its when two people have found their literal soulmates.Even when in arguement, their bond remains steadfast and they experience the ups and downs of life together.

True love is subjective. In the end it all depends on the person itself, and not 'one general idea' of what true love is. We tend to buy the image that true love is romantic, and it has something to do with roses, candlelit dinners and teddy bears. Brr!
I think Shanks summed up my opinions of true love beautifully. It's some kind of emotional and spiritual 'chemistry' you feel with that 'special somebody', and it just grows with each passing day. It's not a question of keeping it romantic, as romance is a fickle thing; it's more to a building of trust and friendship that stems into a feeling of wanting to make sure the person is happy and content, and I think that's what true love is.

What is True Love and do you identify it?
To me, true love is more than just a feeling. It's seeing and taking the person you love for what and who they are no matter what. It's changing yourself for the one that you love. Becoming one with them. Taking the bad with the good and trying to make it better. True love is unconditional.
How is love best expressed, defined and identified?
To best sum it up, true love is realizing that you couldn't live without the person you love.
Is it best expressed with chocolates and roses?
No. The best ways to express it isn't with gifts, it's with actions. A tender embrace. A passionate kiss. A loving glance. Tender words.
Is love wanting to be with your significant other forever?
Not only to be with them forever, but to be one with them.
Does it fill your tummy with butterflies?
I believe it can. It excites the senses when you see the person of your love. It can make you tingle, smile, giddy, aroused.
At what point do the words 'I love you' fall short?
Simple. When there is no meaning or feelings to them. When it's nothing more than just a breath.

lol.It did sound like romantism on my part but that was the best way i could express it.I agree with your post when you said that true love is not all candlelight dinners and teddy bears.True love is best tested and proven in times where the going gets rough.A fling or a crush possibly will not last after a huge argument or fight but true love will.

What is True Love and do you identify it?
True love occurs when the person is the most precious thing to you in the whole universe, more than yourself too. You really don't care if the person loves you back or not. You will only want that person to be happy and safe. You will not feel jealous if you see them with another person if they are happy.
How is love best expressed, defined and identified?
Love is all about caring anfd keeping the person safe and happy with all you might. You will never want to see a tear in their eye. Maybe they are far from you but still in your heart.
Is it best expressed with chocolates and roses?
Gifts can be a way to be felt special but when someone protects and care about you, that is the most precious gift to you better than any diamond ring.
Is love wanting to be with your significant other forever?
It will be a good opportunity to be with them to protect them. Love is all about caring.
Does it fill your tummy with butterflies?
Ya it does that but lust would be a better name of it not love.
At what point do the words 'I love you' fall short?
When the person is faking. The truth can be heard in their voice and it really hurts.

True love can be the most wonderful or most painful thing. There are many kinds of true loves though. The love between siblings can be a true love, as can be the love between friends or mother and child. Those can be just as powerful, even if they are not the romantic kind of true love. After all, a mother who will sacrifice her everything just to make sure their child is alive, safe, and happy- isn't that true love? But of course not all siblings are kind, some friends are deceptive, and not all mothers or children exactly want the best things for the other.
Then there is the romantic kind of true love. I think its can be a kind thing. If they feel the same for you it can feel the greatest thing, but if they feel it for someone that isn't you its not like it will allow you to go 'go for the one you love' to that person. Because it would hurt, it would be painful, but you would still despite the pain that they don't want you that way, that they might never want you that way, that their happily ever after might be with another, you still try to make them as happy as they can be and support them to get who they love, no matter how much its tearing you apart inside.
And even after that person has someone else you will feel lonely, desperate, torn, depressed and no matter what, no other relationship with any other person will bring you the light you once had with that person. Being with that one and only person can be heaven but without them it can be hell.
