The Third movie in the popular anime series One Piece.
One Piece: Chopper’s Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals was aired as a double feature with Digimon: The Runaway Digimon Express, the sixth Digimon movie, for the Toei Spring Anime Fair for 2002.

Movie Summary
The Straw Hats arrive on Crown Island, where there is a legend stating that a great treasure is hidden on it. Tony Tony Chopper is separated from the crew, though, and when he meets a boy named Mobambi, Chopper is hailed as the new Animal King of the island. Also on the island, though, are Count Butler, General Hotdog, and President Snake, who seek the treasure for themselves. It turns out the treasure is great power contained within the horns of the Animal King, and so a great battle between Butler’s group and the Straw Hats erupt as Butler relentlessly pursues the power of the Animal King.

Spoiler AlertWith Chopper as their newest member, the Straw Hats arrive at the Island of Strange Animals. Before they can land, a geyser-like fountain sends their ship flying. Chopper falls off and lands in the middle of a gathering of animals. They are performing a ritual, which according to their legend, is supposed to cause a king to fall from the heavens. Believing that legend fulfilled, they proclaim Chopper their new king. The other Straw Hats, searching for their lost crewmate, make the acquaintance of the self-proclaimed genius and expert treasure hunter Count Butler, with his henchmen General Hot Dog and President Snake. Butler is in search of the horns of a particular animal living on the island, which when eaten bestows great power upon the eater. For that purpose, he uses a hoard of bovinae-like animals called horn eaters, which he controls by playing music on a special violin, to round up horn bearing animals. The Straw Hats, unknowingly, lead Butler to Chopper and the group of animals, whose king he has become. Butler gives the gathered animals an ultimatum, to hand over their king, whose horns he believes to be what he is looking for, or to be crushed by his horn eaters. But Chopper does not need to be turned over. He steps forward himself and lures the horn eaters away from the island's animals. A fight ensues and it does not take long until the remaining Straw Hats join in to take their fill. Zoro takes on Hot Dog and Sanji fights with Snake, while Usopp and Nami take care of the horn eaters. Butler fights with Chopper and is about to finish him off, when Momambi, a young boy and only human inhabitant of the island shows up with the former king's horns to lure Butler away from Chopper. The plan backfires, as Butler gets hold of the horns, quickly stuffs them down, and transforms into a large, horned, gorilla-like animal. With that he appears to be winning, until the islands animals and Luffy enter the fight. Luffy defeats Butler, breaks his horns, thus canceling his transformation, and sends him flying. Mobambi fears to be exiled from the island for losing the former king's horns, but instead is elected to be the new animal king.

Trivia

* While the One Piece movies are considered non-canon by most fans, this movie seems the least canonical as neither Vivi or Nico Robin are featured. Chopper was added to the crew after Vivi and before Robin. If it took place before Arabasta, Vivi would have to be with them, and if it took place after Arabasta, Robin would be with the crew. Either that, or Robin is still hiding in the cabin during the events of the movie (though that highly unlikely since the start of the movie begins in the cabin. Plus Robin reveals herself shortly after they leave Arabasta). Sanji is seen wearing his "Mr. Prince" sunglasses, making it seem like after Arabasta. But also Nami's staff is the wooden one and not the Clima-Tact that Usopp made for her before the Arabasta Saga, making it even more unlikely that it occurred after the saga, and further cementing it's non-canon nature.
* This movie also contains a rare instance of mixed pairing in the battles. Traditionally, Zoro fights the swordsman, while Sanji battles the martial artist. In this movie, it's switched - Sanji battles the swordsman, while Zoro duels the martial artist. Interestingly enough, though they would never say it to one another, each one compliments the others strength after their respective fights.
* Pandaman made a brief cameo appearance in this movie.
* Each of the Straw Hats are wearing different attire than what they usually wear.
* When Chopper was accidentally thrown off the Going Merry in the beginning of the movie, he grabbed the flag and it tore off the mast. When the ship landed, the flag was still there

Childish but chopper's cuteness, if the movie didn't included chopper than it lost everything.
Pay attention to chopper, it's what the movie is trying to show.
Everything is about chopper and his new friend whom he must leave which may bring tears to people's eye.

Sentimentality is the concept for this one.I think the younger OP fans would appreciate this one more than the "veterans"

My pleasure.
Since it's a work bearing OP in it's name, it can't be ignored.
As loyal victims of oda, we just have to watch it and not miss one bit.

I got confused on the time line of when this movie is supposed to occur in.There are discrepancies to say the least.
Still i throughly enjoyed it.

You hit the spot.

But then oda didn't say anything about it, it's now treated as a non-canon.
The trivia says it all.

That part was cool huh?:D

The enemies were relative pushovers in this one aside from the leader that became a beast from eating the horns.

The enemies were very weak except that they vould call the horneaters.
They reminded me a bit of the Foxy pirates trio.

Chopper and the kingdom of animals was a really feel good movie.Debuting Chopper at the big screen for the first time.It really cashed on Tony Tony Chopper adorablility and appeal. It worked. It certainly appealed to me.

tupac115
06-18-2010, 07:39 PM
Cant disagree with that.:p
Chopper just joined the SH during this time and was an instant hit.:p Cant blame them.:D

Shanks
06-22-2010, 11:12 AM
It was expected.Even till now,Chopper is still on the top straw-hats in popularity. His status as an anime "pet" has reached almost legendary levels.

tupac115
06-26-2010, 10:52 PM
hahaha!Cant disagree with that.:p

For a "pet" his popularity surpasses most of the straw-hats.Most would expect a character like him to be secondary one but Chopper is a front runner.:D

Shanks
06-28-2010, 08:47 PM
You can say that again. He is constantly a top runner, even with Usopp joining the Straw-hats earlier than him,Chopper popularity overshadows him.

tupac115
07-18-2010, 04:22 AM
Hahaha!Yeah.:p Like Kon in bleach but Chopper is on a different level completely.:hehee:

Gotta rewatch this just for the Chopper flag wearing scene.:hehee:

This movie is rather awesome for a non-retelling plot which targets kids.
Chopper is a lengendary character.

But the part about Chopper being adorable is not.:hehee:
