So Now let's talk about persuasion...
What do you think are the factors why can be a person be persuaded? Have you been persuaded before or at first you don't want to be persuaded but eventually you did. How did you feel?
Let's ponder in this question. What do you think is more persuasive. The looks or personality of the person who is trying to persuade you or the message that the person is trying to convey to you? Which is it?

To be honest i am actually quite a stubborn person so when its comes to persuasion,i am seldom on the receiving end of it.Its quite difficult to persuade me and most of my friends wont even bother trying. But thats not to say i have never been persuaded myself.
I think all of the above you mention Ciel has an effect on persuasions.Looks is a given because its natural for humans to be attracted to "good-looking" people.Personality is a plus because a charismatic person would br able to send a message with more impact and the message itself plays a part because it had to be something you yourself want to do.Example:your friend is persuading you to play soccer and since you like soccer, you cab better relate to it and in vice-versa:if someone persuades you to commit murder and its complete against your morals, you would immediately shun the idea as ridiculous.
Another factor i would add that influences persuasion is state of mind.Using my own personal experience i was persuaded to drink a full mug of beer containing a LOT of ciggarette ash and i was intoxicated by alcohol at that time.I did it.:shame:

Let's see about that...i don't want to spoil it...:D
anyway about the other factor yeah it really is. We can also relate the fact that which person are you talking to? Do you have the same level of understanding? Like for example a scientist wants to persuade an audience full of common people and all he talk about is terms that a common people wouldn't understand. So Audience is a factor too.

:hehee:Bou-chan is being mean today.:p
True Ciel,i agree with you on the Audience point, somewhat like peer-pressure in a sense.I add to your point by stating if the number of people are persuading you is more. Then you are in general more suceptible to the idea.Audience is a valid point indeed:thumbs:

i am a very stubborn person, so usually if i don't want to do something, no amount of persuading can make me do something.
i believe one of the most important things in persuasion is how you convey the message. the message is more important than the looks, but the way you convey the message is also more important. looks and personality is nothing. the message and the way you persuade is very important.

You remind me of myself.:hehee:
Good point but i think it wont hurt your chances if you have a charismatic personalityand have a good looks to boot. Its human nature to be attracted to good looking people. For example,i certainly be more subceptible to persuasion say if the person who is persuading me happens to be a supermodel.:p

haha. i guess you're right.
good looks plays a part in persuasion, come to think of it. being suceptible to persuasion if the person who's persuading you has good looks is natural. :hehee:
if that supermodel delivered a good message well, maybe i would say yes :D

True.
But i agree with your earlier post when you said the message is more important.Even if a supermodel came to me and persuaded me to commit Mass murder or something then its a no brainer.
The key is in the message just like you said.

well for me it's the personality of the person himself . though i'm a little hard-to-persuade kind of person :p
there was this one time when some friends persuaded me to dance at a friend's wedding, i felt so embarrassed that time XD

Personality weights stronger for you Kibou?
well thats true in part.
Hypothetical question though, what if the message was really way out there?okay the dancing part must have been embarrassing but what if,the content of the persuasion was something you would never do?
I use an example targeted at you.Since you love art so much what if someone would to persuade you to give up your art?Would you do it?

depending on how the person uses persuasion I would not go with it....i'm a vary stuburn little girl...they would have to come up with some pretty good ideas.
now i do believe if a person has good looks it would make persuasion a little easier because it would be intriguing to know the reasons behind why some one that pretty or cute wanted you to do something...on the other hand a good messege if convayed properly does a good job to...so i'd have to say it would have to be both.

I see.:D
Thats what I meant by the message itself overcoming the personality part.In persuasion there are some messages that even the most charismatic person would be unable to persuade you to do.
Another hypothetical question, say Jonny Depp persuades you to give up your art...would you do it?

For me i think its the message that that person is rying to persuade me with that holds the most weight. The person sending the message does play a part too but its not as important as the message itself.
If a person tries to convince me with something, then the message must be along something i believe in or is inclined to agree with from m to consider the persuasion.
